Boston Jazz Voices
Mission
Boston Jazz Voices is a non-profit organization with a twofold purpose: we offer unique, professional-quality programs of a cappella singing to the public, and we provide musical education and a valuable artistic outlet to our members.
Our mission is to rehearse and perform close-harmony a cappella arrangements of songs, according to the highest possible musical standards we can attain. We specialize in presentations of many-voiced, close-harmony arrangements of vocal jazz and other styles suitable for an ensemble of our size of 18-24 members. The group serves the general public of the greater Boston area, providing a choral experience and a caliber of live performance not otherwise available.
We provide our individual members with extensive opportunities for performance. In addition, the singer’s musical growth is fostered by the mastery of a rich and varied repertoire, instruction in interpretation of the literature, and training in techniques of close-harmony a cappella singing.
